A furniture protection and sleep products company based in Florida, GBS Enterprises provides customers with peace of mind when making major purchases. This is done through GBS Enterprises’ various warranty plans that protect against damage such as grass stains.

When your outdoor upholstery becomes stained by grass, start cleaning it as soon as possible. Vacuum up any loose soil and grass and create a solution of two cups cool water and one tablespoon laundry or dishwashing detergent. Pick up some of this mixture with a white cloth or sponge and press it onto the stain. Start with the outside of the stain first and work your way in. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes and then use a dry cloth or paper towel to blot up all the liquid.

Next, use a cloth or sponge to add plain water onto the stain until you do not see any more soap bubbles. If you leave any soap in the upholstery, it may attract and hold dirt. Once the suds are completely gone, again blot the stain dry. Allow the upholstery to air dry and repeat this process if necessary until the grass stain is completely gone.

You can also add some acetone onto the fabric if you are having trouble removing the stain entirely. Test acetone in a hidden area of the upholstery fabric before adding it to the stain to make sure it doesn’t damage it. Dry cleaning solvent or a mix of ammonia and warm water can also be used to remove grass stains, but these chemicals should also first be tested in an inconspicuous area.
